i am considering buying a dingo. i was wandering if it was the best brand out there or how the others compaired. also what is a good size? i am going to be doing irrigation installation, new & renovations on landscapes, and maybe later branch out into growing trees.

It seems that Dingo is the most popular and I had a flier where I could get one with 5 attachments and a trailer for 19K. so the price didnt seem to be that bad. Finn, bobcat, kanga, caterpillar, all make them.

if its a dealer in your area, i would check out Boxer or Vermeer, they have a very impressive mini skid that i believe beats out Toro, Kanga, Bobcat, Etc.

If you get Turf (South) there's a good artical in this month's issue about the Dingo.

i havent seen anything that vermeer made that wasnt all around good.......real tough stuff....will be more expensive, but IMO you get what you pay for with their construction equip.

Last year at GIE I looked at the Dingo, The Boxer the Kanga and the Kanga Kid all and out of those 3 I liked the Kanga brands the best.

i know this is late .. but there goes my 2 cents worth...

we bought a dingo tx425 last year and love it............

i demo's the boxter ditch witch sk300 and 500 and the dingo....

for us it had to be a tracked unit... only 3-4 psi of ground pressure... no rutting.....
have had the unit for a year now and am having to replace the muffler, and a few bushings that we did not grease as much as we should have....

i did not kile the kanga's either....

they are the yugo's of the mini skids.....

they are by far the least expensive.. for a reason..

one of the reasons i did not like the boxter is it has controls like the dingo wheeled units and had my thumbs cramping after just a few minutes... and split levers for the loader and arm control..

the dingo tx's and the ditch wtch had a single lever that works just like a tractor... very simple...

also the two joysticks of the ditchwitch move like greased butter... very easy to use..
