I'm looking at used skid steers. I need some help. I know all about buying used quads, but what about used skid steers?

This is for a 98-04 year range. Looking at a Gehl 3825SX. Any opinions?

How many engine hours would be considered the line at which machines are trusted to be a good order? I've found some at 170 and 400 hours, and they look good. Other machines go in the thousands!

Would 170 hours be considered new, good, fair, poor?
How about 1000 hours or over 500?

Please tell me any of your experiences with buying used machines.

What else should I look for?

Thanks guys. Appreciate it.

I have a bobcat 753 and really like it and no people that would push train cars with a bobcat 863 now that is hard on a machine and they never had any major problems. i would say bobcats hold up well
