483??? how can you look at something and not remember the model number.on the bobcat website you can look up old skid steer models to get specs.

1999 hours your going to need a engine rebuild kit pretty soon if she was worked hard. did you put a load on the hydros?? how are the tires? have the chains been replaced yet,has the timming belt been replaced yet?? any welds on the frame?? any coolant in the oil?? WAS IT IN A RENTAL FLEET OR HEAVY CONSTRUCTION FLEET ??

9 grand is a good price on a skid with that many hours. i've seen some bobcats going for 5 to 10 grand around here with 1800 plus hours

a few years back i bought a bobcat 763 from a rental dealer for 10,000 i ended up putting 5 grand into it and only got 2 years out of it

its 485 ... i just got the number mixed up in my head. he just had the whole thing compltey serviced. he showed me the bill and it was 1,238$ from a shop to service it completley. the tires are fine.. it also comes with trash tires... the solid rubber ones. and yes .. there all welds on the boom, but he has a replacement peice for it that hes gonna give me. its been welded for about a year and hasnt had a problem.

I would be a liar if i said that was a great deal.has welds on it = beat on junker.not worth it my friend.
theres plenty of good used equipment out there. $1,238 for regular service?? the most i ever paid to have a skid serviced was $450.00

it only has welds on one of the booms... and he had everything serviced on the machine... pretty much an overhaul

Don't be pressured just by one machine.

Look around, check out a few

overhaul cost more than 1238 i still wouldn't buy it. equipment that needs welding has been worked very hard.

I think

A your blowing smoke up are back sides about this skid that you seem to not know much about

B you think your getting a really good deal on something thats not worth that much

what was overhauled drive chains, hydro pumps engine piston rings. an overhaul for just over 1200 seems way off the marks..try more like 5 6000 if its a total engine and hydro system job

485 does not exsist, never has.

L465, Lx465 would be the only one of New Holland that would be close.

You should be able to find an Lx465 for about $6500

And with what Mike said above is very valid.

LGF and I looked up all past NH skid steers and that number doesn't exsist. I even contacted the NH dealer in CT and even he said there is no such model number

Welp Mike and I found an L485, not many were sold cause it is not a Superboom.

However, the machine is still not worth $9000

$6500 tops, it's just not worth more than that.

I paid $3500 for a '96 Lx665 Turbo with almost 4000 hours on it

Heck no... i dont do anything for a set price... i dont even do any thatching. i do seed lawns... but it starts at more than $120. and i was 17... im 18 now. Trust me you dont have to worry about me being a low-baller, and i'm 100% ligit. im actually sometimes the highest bidder . the offical name is " Colonel Landscaping LLC" . the only welds are on one of the booms... and he gave me a brand new one to put on it if i felt amitious enough. because the weld is holding up fine.

A boom replacement is $5000.........And you aint going to do it yourself.

I had trouble just replacing the pins and bushings in the front of the boom for the bucket and tilt. Parts alone was over $200.

sorry.. im not all up to par on all of the terms of the skidsteer. a section of the boom... the section that had the welds on it.. he had a brand new one in his garage he was gonna give me with it. but anyways... thanks for the advice because i didnt end up buying it. i didnt like the hours from the get go.. and he was asking a little much for it.. needless to say the deal fell through... sorry if i was a little rude in this post its just been a looong week.
