I'm not new to bobcats, have had a 500 for over thirty years. now I aquired two 610s you know double the trouble. my problem is with the timing I'v read the manual over several times, either I have lost it or the manual is the poorest thing I've ever read. ex: "rotate the fly wheel untill you feel resistance from the breaker point spring". another one is line the DC markes on the fly wheel with the center line of the number one and number three cylinder". Can someone tell me in simple words where I want the spark to occure, I can find #1 and TDC.
This engine has been sitting for some time the compresson is low three valves were stuck open, I,ve freeed them up and timed it to TDC then with the help of ether it fired out the exaust with flame and a very loud report, it comes close to running with the help of the starter . because of the poor condition of the motor the timming must be right on to give me my best oppertunity to start it. please don't tell me to check the gas. I'm a put some oil in the cylinders to bring the compression up and a little gas in each cyl. and a little ether and add spark and it should fire, thats my type of a guy . Thank in advance, Roy
