A guy is selling a truck. NO reserve on it and the max bid is $800 so far. But in the descripton it says a $2000 deposit required at end of auction. If the winning bid is less than $2000 do you still have to pay the $2000 deposit?

You need to email the seller and ask him this question but be careful and dont let him run the bid up on you at the last min. and what ever you do dont let him know what you are willing to bid

i wouldnt ask him anything,,,let the auction run,,,if he don't have a reserve then he is bound to the auction sites rules and could be held under breech of contract if he renigs. That is IF one chooses to persue it.

If the winning bid is less than $2000 do you still have to pay the $2000 deposit? Then obviously you are not going to pay $2000 deposit on an $800 max bid.

Don't email anything, if you do win, give him a 10% deposit and the rest when you pick it up, if he don't like it, then send him 50%, I would not give more till you get there.

You do have some negotiatiing cause his so called deposit was more then what the auction ended at, so his "deposit" amount is not acclicable.
