Windows XP automatic restart after shut down.
After upgrading to XP from ME, the computer would restart after shut down. After browsing this Forum:
Software Tips & Tricks (http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/forum/index.php?s=)
Some really good info about Windows, I tracked the problem to my HP318 dig. Camera software. I figured it out by searching this Forum..can’t post there yet, waiting for activation.
MS support also emailed me, but I had already got it straight before they emailed.
So, along with some cd burning software, HP 318 camera software will crash XP also.
The error msg I got was:
"stop:OXOOOOOO7E (OXCOOOOOO5, OXF881E941, OXF89699CO, OXF89696CO)
kdbclass.sys - Address F881E941 base at F881EOOO, Datestamp 3d6ddad3"

Now to see if XP will communicate with the camera without the HP software installed.

You said you loaded xp from upgrade, first mistake but not knocking you.

Xp , has native software for cameras. It doesn't realy need manufacter's software. So when you tried to load the propertiory software (HP) stuff, it would cause a conflict.

If you truely want to use HP's software, go to the HP\Compac web site and see if they have a current version for XP.
