Well, I would recommend taking out the scanned image with your name and phone #'s and putting it in by type and adding the pic. It just looks hard to read. I would also include the area code on the phone. I think it looks more professional. Other than that it looks good.

With the wife and kids pic, he is looking for the "I am down to earth" look, not over egoed or over priced.
Both images have a slight blur to them, but nerver the less, they fit what he wants to portray.

I like the fact that it is simple and very straightforward and easy to read. There are some general english no no's and a few missing words as well as two missing pics on the last webpage. When you get time, if you want help with some of the general secretarial junk (like spacing etc...) along with fixing the few mistakes let me know..I'll help you with what I found. Or if you'd like, let me know and I can send them in an email or pm, that way you can work on it in your spare time.

I'm not so keen on the page saying you use Dixon mowers. Not bashing Dixon, it just seems out of place. That's just my opinion. An extra fee for using a blade edger? Other than that, it looks pretty good. :l)

If you need your yard mowed, we can do it for you! Our standard mowing service includes mowing, trimming around all hardscapes, and blowing off debris from sidewalks, driveways, etc.
We also offer metal bladed edging around sidewalks and driveways, for an additional fee.
If you desire to have your lawn mowed--we can provide that mondain service for you.
Our mowing service consists of; mowing, string trimming around all hard sufaces and bed edges, and finally, blowing any stray clippings off those areas.
We also offer hard edging around sidewalks and drives with a mechanical edger at an aditional fee.
How'd I do?

Looks pretty good, Robert. One thing, though -- you included the mower photo to convey professionalism, right? Instead of just the mower and the brand name, do you have a good photo of yourself in action on the mower, tending to a nice property? That way visitors to your site could see that you're a pro, rather than you having to tell them so.

Looks pretty good for a start, some dead links and doesn't have anything service related working.
The graphics; the laymen with only dial up will hate you.
Where ya at? CA?

Hey LG,
Welcome to the Cafe!
Your website is professional-looking and I'm sure it will get you some business. However, there are a couple of things that confuse me.
1. The continual animation is very distracting. If you could set it to run only once, when your home page is first accessed, that would be quite enough. And confine animation to the home page only. Having it on every page is amateurish.
2. Are you a landscaper or a construction contractor? One gets the impression that you build homes. If that's what you are, cool. But if you create the landscape that makes the home's outside environment, that's another thing. You may want to say, "We design your home's surroundings ...." rather than just "... your home ... ".
3. I love the mouseover effects! The reverse lettering is just a tad hard to read, though. You could intensify the shadowing and make the size a little bigger -- not much, maybe a point-size or 2.
4. MENU, not MEMU. Unless maybe it's an acronym for something, or a foreign language particular to California, I dunno...
Your gallery pix are awesome -- please forgive me for asking, and I hope you don't take this in anything other than appreciation, but ... do you take care of all of those properties? Tell me those aren't just for spacing, scanned out of a real estate magazine! (I'm remembering a certain individual a month or so ago, who claimed he was part of a student team that built a website for a class project, and who pirated a bunch of pictures from the various lawnsites, "for the effect". Not that you would do that, mind you.)
Anyway, hope I didn't land on you too hard. Overall, your site is good.

Sammy, Orange County is in California.
I'm going to have to agree with Mike......I'm on dialup, and the page still hasn't loaded...it's been loading for a good 3-4 minutes.

from a designers point of view "it sucks" it took 9 seconds to load on 2.5 mbit cable, thats right 9 seconds too much flash intregration, at 1.3 mb it will take along time on dialup

Wow thanks for the info and suggestions everyone. I have to confess, I have not viewed this thread in over 2 months so forgive me for not responding sooner!
Thanks to LGF and Lawngoddes for their suggestions. I will have to work on that the next rainy day I get. As far as the pics go. I am just now getting access to a digital camera so I will work on that as well.

[QUOTE=lawnagent]Wow thanks for the info and suggestions everyone. QUOTE]
Many of the suggestions were for someone else's site in the thread, so, it is a little confusing.
Here are a few things from my point of view:
1. Your font on the "home" and "about us" page is tiny compared to the other three pages. The other three pages look much better with the larger title.
2.I think the picture of your family should be moved to the "about us" page.
3. I would use the factory pic of the Dixon Mower. Use the new one I attached if you can't find a pic of your year model. You are trying to say that you use Dixon brand commercial mowers so it doesn't matter what year model.
4. I would take the information off of the business card and type it into the main page. It would look clearer. The card is a little fuzzy looking. You can still put the graphic of the man holding the tree on the page. I would put it where you currently have the Sept 11 thing and move the Sept 11 thing to the bottom of the page on that left hand column under the words "Our Service".
5. Reconsider your menu order. Right now it is:
Home
About Us
Feedback
Contact Us
Our Service
Something more like other websites would be more appropriate, like:
Home
Our Service
About Us
Contact Us
Feedback
Three and four are interchangeable but our service is like your novel. It should be after your introduction.
6. On the "feedback" page above the words "please let us know" there is a missing graphic link. It's location is: http://www.homestead.com//~site/Scripts_Shapes/shapes.dll?
Same thing, same link on the "Contact Us" page before the word "We're".
On that same page there is no graphic on the box we click to email you.
The only picture I see on the "our Service" page is a gif of petunias at the bottom.
Since it has been awhile these changes will make a big difference in the way the site currently looks.
Hope it helps,
Ben

First, I would lose the counter. Second, I would make the title of your Home Page:
Greenscape Lawn & Landscape Maintenance :: Hartford, Kentucky
You will be found better with Search Engines, and if someone saves your link it will say your Business name instead of Home Page.
I agree with Kickin Sum Grass that you should nix the scanned ad image. Implement that same thing in an HTML table.
I would move the family picture to the About Us page.
Overall, it's a good start.
