I've been a CLIP user since 1995. There was an advertisement in PRO magazine a few years ago that showed an LCO with a rather large operation and the owner at front and center. The caption read: "CLIP gave me my life back!" That's exactly the way I feel about my CLIP program. I wouldn't be able to run my business without it.

Jim, I use Gopher. I like it a lot. It will do everything that you want it to do. It will interact with Quickbooks if you choose to. Download the trial from Yardman's link, and try it.

I kinda likin Grounds keeper pro. I downloaded both the trials from gopher, an grounds keeper pro. For me gk pro is easier to use. I didn't really like the way gopher invoiced. I Think gk pro invoices look awsome an easier for monthly billing. It was quicker once all the customers were added. Just one click to do anything ya wanted. Gopher ya had to multi click to get the end result..

Download the trials, an pick what best suits ya...

I will be switching from Clip to Lawn and Pest Assistant 111 for 2008
Word is that most Chemlawn Corporate outfits are doing the same.

The software demo is amazing

Just looked at Lawn and Pest 111. That is a good web site and have ordered the demo. Is the program expensive? Couldn't find a price, which usually means $$$. That's the way I work too. :)

QXpress is the best. they even let you rent for a few months which is the best deal.

Lawn & Pest III is expensive though, If you have over 500 accounts it starts at $5000 plus another 500-600 for the conversion from your old program.

The Spring Letters and carbonless invoices sells it for me i guess. I think it will be worth it from what Ive heard from other lawn outfits. Plus all the invoices are barcoded, save alot of time in the office for me personally.

There are alot of other features, like mapping and GPS, alot of stuff that bigger companies would take advantage of for sure. The software really doesnt seem to have any limits, it will do what you want it to do.

I was quoted less than that in taking to a rep. Around 2500.00, can I expect hidden costs? :(
My old program is very old, DOS driven old.:(
Have you compared it with Qxpress?

I think they base it on how many customers you have, Not sure though, I cant find the quote they sent me. Doesnt seem like any hidden charges, my quote was pretty straight forward. You should check out their demo. Have not heard of Qxpress before.

was searching for one, found AvailSuite. I like it really easy in use, for scheduling is perfect, for accounting use QuickBooks and synch it with Availsuite.
One of my favorite features is tracking my employees and our receivables :)

It's pretty cheap but you pay for what you get. I find it does the job I need for it to do.. It's not my favorite.. but I really like Groundskeeper Pro.. when I'll be able to afford it.. i'm buying Groundskeeper pro

Excel is tedious. Go with a more advanced program.

Lawnpro for me it does a pretty good job. I like it for the scheduling. The invoicies are nice.
I have looked into qb but it does not schedule and invoicing 80 clients gets old when you are mowing 4 times a month.

Gotta go with PROCUT1 Quickbooks for accounting and QEXPRESS for scheduling.QEXPRESS has many good features and tech support is good also.

Yeah well I use Lawnpro only for their letter writter (contracts, and all that crap) but other than that... I am very satisfied with Groundskeeper Pro.
