I think I can find the answer to this in my Owner's Manual, but I am out of town on business and thought I might find the answer here before I get home.

I just got a John Deere 4410 with a 430 front end loader. I love the "float" feature of the FEL and thought it to be a feature my Bobcat did not have. Then on one of the tractor forums someone mentioned putting their skid steer in float. Have I been missing something all along? Do most skid steers have float, and specifically, does the 7753?

Thanks in advance. Glad I found this site. I am getting ready to rip up and redo lawn, roads, and drainage on ten acres near Springfield, MO. I'll have lots of questions.

I have a 1300c scat trak and it has float and I used to have an old bobcat like 1960's age and it had float on it. yours should have it.

Bobcat also has a float feature. Hit the "Float" button on the left hand control then quickly hit the control to lower the bucket all the way down.

float feature was just to lower bucket and tap it(hard) when it was on the ground and that set it

I've got a bobcat s150, and it has a yellow float button on the left joystick. Just mash it while lowering the bucket, and it locks in. Push the button again to turn it off.

I got playing with mine (1980 something Bobcat 610) last night and thinking of this thread, thanks for posting it. I had always thought I had something "sticking" or hanging with my lift / lower left hand pedal...... WEll, opened up the manual, thereby directly loosing 10 manpoints, and low and behold, press left pedal all the way forward and it locks into "float" position. It works too.......

The only thing that saved me, was the wife coming out back going "what the $##@@ are you doing too my back yard, and when I told her about Float I got that hog looking at a wristwatch stare...... Then I said, you know, just like the tractor has on the loader,,,,,, and a bit more of the same stare...... And I realized why she always had such a hard time smoothing with the bucket and liked the box blade so much more. I wish I had done it a day earlier, because she spent yesterday with the tractor putting in a flat spot for a patio, without knowing what float was....

Man was it a good night, I really appreciate this post.

Hey Thanks!
I'm new here. Found the site on a search for Bobcat 610 articles. I bought one just before Christmas. I thought something was wrong with the left pedal too and tried to re-adjust the "sticking" valve. After reading the article I tried mine out(I couldn't adjust things that far) It works like a champ. I about destroyed the first piece of ground I played with, before finding this important info. My wife was not amused. I fixed it, after I was enlightened. Now I'm a genius!
I also found out that my machine has the aux. hydraulics. The control rod was diconnected and was buried in the spooge under the deck plate. Since some previous owner welded the bucket in place, I guess he figured he didn't need it.

i dont think any skid has float

i own a case 70xt skid and it has the float feature, also the older 1840 case skids had the feature also. but i always found float to be annoying and marginal at the job it does.
