Joe, it was a JD compact tractor w/loader for a rediculous cheap price. It was a scam. I e mailed the guy and ask if i could come see it and never even got a reply and the next day it was off e bay.
I saw a similar scam several months back, something like a 10G Exmark for $3,500. I emailed the guy too (also from Italy) and he wanted me to wire transfer money. Now the thing that was funny is the seller had 100% positive feedback on about 24 items (all misc. items too.) So I started to think maybe this guy is for real because it looked like a regular seller, but I emailed ebay to check it out because it just couldn't be right.
Ebay got back to me and it seems there is a way for crooks to hi-jack ebay accounts of decent people so as to look legit, and then they and start scamming people.
I also got info from Western Union stating wire transfers are NOT the way to pay for merchandise on ebay. I guess they've been burned too.

never wire transfer anything, always go for paypal items, its really simple to use. I saw a bobcat last year (04 model 45hrs) and it went for $500, ya right.
