Blow out problem or something else?

When sprinkler system opened this spring in Minnesota discovered several feet of PVC main pipe in Zone 1 sheared indicating water issue. Does this mean blow out was not done properly or could water have entered the pipes after the blow out? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. Any way to determine the cause? The contractor that blew it out blames PVC (felt the installer should have used Poly).

PVC could have cracked just from the cold

There are several pipes (20 feet+) sheard all in one zone - is that consistent with cold weather if the damage is limited to one zone? Thanks in advance,

if it is across the pipe it has nothing to do with freezing , if crack runs down the pipe, it froze.
